What to write
We welcome contributions about any aspect of public health.
How to write
Do you have something interesting, surprising or inspiring to say? Can you write that in one sentence? That should be your first or lead sentence.
Our readers are smart and educated but may not have a scientific or academic background. You don’t need to talk down to readers, but don’t expect them to understand scientific jargon. Please back up facts and statistics with a hyperlink to a primary reference.
Contributions should be between 500 and 800 words. Please note your piece may be edited for clarity.
Who can write
Only members of the Public Health Association of Australia may contribute stories, but anyone may comment.
Send a pitch first
Before writing the story send us a short pitch of no more than 100 words, outlining the key elements of the story and why it should be published now. The story needs to be topical.
