Have your say on what public health research matters most.
Professor Luke Wolfenden
Improving public health requires the generation and use of research to inform the decision making of policymakers, practitioners, and the community. At the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Public Health (ANZJPH), we want to use our platform to make a bigger difference in public health research and practice.
ANZJPH is the official journal of the Public Health Association of Australia (PHAA), publishing peer-reviewed public health research relevant to practitioners, policymakers and researchers.
As the editorial team at ANZJPH, we’re working to ensure that the studies we publish provide the evidence and insights we need to tackle our most pressing public health challenges.
But to do that, we need your help.
Public health impacts everyone
That’s why we’re inviting public health researchers, health professionals, and community members to share their views on what research matters most. By participating in our prioritisation survey, you’ll be helping us identify research that has the greatest potential for public health improvement.
The prioritisation survey is a simple way for you to let us know what public health research and research topics you think would be most beneficial for enhancing public health. It’s open to everyone, and it only takes a few minutes to complete.
Think of it as your chance to shape the types of research the Journal prioritises, to support public health decisions in Australia and New Zealand (and beyond) over the next couple of years.
This survey is part of our larger effort to ensure that the research we publish is not only of high quality but also highly relevant.
We will use the survey responses as well as other research, reports and priority setting initiatives to identify priority areas for the Journal. This doesn’t mean we’ll stop publishing a wide range of studies—instead, it means we’ll highlight and promote research that aligns with areas identified as having the greatest potential for impact.
Why now?
The world of public health is changing rapidly. New challenges like pandemics, climate change, and the rise of chronic diseases require fresh ideas and strong evidence. At ANZJPH, we want to stay ahead of these changes by focusing on what truly matters.
By taking part in our survey, you’re helping us make sure that the research we publish makes a real difference – both now and in the future.
Your voice matters
Whether you’re a researcher, a health worker, or someone who simply cares about public health, we want to hear from you.
It’s easy to take part. Just visit this link to complete the survey. It’s open until 27 January 2025, so there’s plenty of time to share your thoughts.
Your voice is crucial in helping us set the right priorities and ensuring that public health research delivers real benefits to people everywhere.
Together, we can create a healthier, brighter future for all.
Take the prioritisation survey now.
